avibright in the SUMMER AVIATION FORUM
Air transport and tourism and structurally interdependent; the demand for air transport is of derived nature essentially depending on leisure, business and other tourism activities taking place in situ. Tourism it is now strongly rebounding, sustainability and resilience prove of major importance for tourism destinations and this is also inevitably related to air transport strategies and operations. This year’s Summer Aviation Forum, organized by Air Transport News (atn.aero), brought together leaders of the aviation sector to discuss the future of air transport and tourism in the new era and how to navigate emerging geopolitical and economic uncertainties.
Our CEO Angelos Astrinidis peparticipated in the Summer Aviation Forum 2026 in Skiathos, joining a high-level panel of aviation leaders to discuss the future of air transport, the role of technology, and what it truly takes to build resilient aviation ecosystems.
Sharing the panel with Kostas Katsikias (CEO, FSTC Europe), Mohamed A Hanno (Executive Chairman & CEO, ASE Group), and Flavio Ghiringhelli (VP South and Central Europe, Emirates) and guided by the sharp moderation of Michael Kerkloh (Tallinn Airport & Hannover Airport), resulted in a genuinely rich exchange of perspectives. The conversation ranged from the structural ties between aviation and tourism, to the talent shortage that keeps many of us up at night, to what AI can and cannot replace in our operations.
“No single organization builds a resilient aviation system alone. It takes trust, shared investment, and the willingness to see the whole ecosystem, not just your own piece of it. That’s a principle we try to live by at avibright every day.
Grateful for the connections made and the conversations that will no doubt continue well beyond Skiathos!”, Angelos Astrinidis, avibright CEO.
